Cyprus Expands Job Market Access for Students and Skilled Foreign Professionals

Relevant decrees set to be issued this week.

The Council of Ministers has approved measures to expand access for students and attract skilled professionals from abroad, with relevant decrees set to be issued this week. Labour and Social Insurance Minister Yiannis Panayiotou announced the decisions in a written statement following the Council’s meeting, which also discussed the positive developments in the 2024 labor market and dynamic prospects for 2025.

The Minister noted that the continued growth of the Cypriot economy has created additional demand for workers in specific sectors and professions. This demand underscores the need to recruit talent from abroad.

To address these challenges, Panayiotou stated, the government has decided to further expand job market access for students and enhance efforts to attract skilled foreign professionals.
