Shaping the Future: Highlights from the 3rd Youth Tech Fest Cyprus 2025

On February 1st, Limassol became the epicenter of creativity, fun, innovation, and education as over 2,000 families, educators, policymakers, and industry leaders gathered for the 3rd Youth Tech Fest Cyprus 2025 at The Warehouse by IT Quarter. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and headlined by Punin Group, this free-to-attend festival celebrated the boundless potential of young minds while acknowledging the dedication of educators in preparing the next generation for a technology-driven world.

A Festival of Inclusion and Inspiration

This year’s event pushed boundaries to foster diversity and inclusion, welcoming children aged 4 to 19 from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, socio-economic status, or learning abilities. With multilingual accessibility in Greek, English, and Russian, and an inclusive venue supporting participants with disabilities, the festival embodied its core mission—making knowledge, technology, and inspiration accessible to all.

The festival continues to serve as a bridge for cross-cultural collaboration within Cypriot communities, uniting students from both private and public schools alongside international thought leaders who brought global perspectives on education, technology, and innovation.

Festival Highlights

This year, attendees experienced an unparalleled lineup of activities, contests, and expert-led discussions designed to inspire and educate.

Edutainment Fair

An immersive learning playground featuring interactive workshops, hands-on activities, live performances, and cutting-edge technology demonstrations in areas such as Gaming, Robotics, Fun Science, AI Innovation, XR/VR, Eco-Sustainability, sport, music and arts. For the first time ever, our family friendly activities included the creation of the longest pasta dough ever 105 meters, courtesy of our partner Maxvel Catering!

EdX Summit – Knowledge and Practice Meets Innovation

The Educational Experience Summit brought together industry pioneers, policymakers, and educators to discuss the future of learning. The international VIP Speaker lineup includes most reputable film producers, sport personalities, founders, CEOs and executives of organisations such as Women In Tech Global, Google Gaming, Junior Achievement Europe, UK’s Department of Science, Innovation and Technology, CySEC, Bank of Cyprus, Exness, Invest Cyprus, bbf:, Petrolina, Digipro, not to forget our favourite AI powered chatbot AInstein Junior born in Cyprus.

ESTEAM Projects Contest

Young innovators showcased STEM-based projects, demonstrating entrepreneurial thinking, scientific research, and technical excellence. All participating students, teachers and mentors received acknowledgements along with the official Certificates for Creativity and Innovation. Special congratulations to the Memories ReMade from Β Δημοτικο Σχολείο Αραδιππου, Firefighter from Trinity Private School and Bubble Rush from Heritage Private School, as their projects excelled in research, applications of technical and business acumen.

Cubing League Tournament

Speedcubing enthusiasts across different ages put once again their skills to the test in an exhilarating Youth Tech Fest Rubik’s Cube competition. Congratulations to the winners: 3x3x3 - Emmanuel Violaris; Skewb - Michael Eleftheriades; Pyraminx - Aaron Choi

Exciting New Additions

Cyber Sport Cup - BRAWL BALL

A thrilling mobile esports competition, bringing together high school gamers for an electrifying Brawl Stars showdown. Shoutout to Gennadios Iacovides, team captain for Gennadios’s Workers (Pankyprio Lykeio Larnacas), Dimitry Strelnikov, team captain for The Unlucky Gang (Heritage Private School), Orestis Ierides, team captain for Ta Trapezomantila (Laniteio School) and Igor Bolshakov, team captain for Beavers228 (Trinity Private School) for getting their teams to the final.

STEM Robotics Competition

Our first STEM Robotics Competition for primary school students, with a special focus on supporting underprivileged and displaced children by providing free robotics kits, was a great success. The winning team NextGen Martians is going to Athens first week of April to represent Cyprus against 12 other countries. Huge congratulations to teams Robominds and Rabbits Adventures who took second and third places, respectively.

Film & Dance Youth Festival

Cyprus’s first prestigious international celebration of cinematic and artistic storytelling, with participants from over 44 countries across 3 categories - Dance Film, Fashion Film and Music Video.

Body Art Workshops

Celebrity body artists Friday Jones (NYC) and Andreas Vronti (Cyprus) guided young participants and their parents in expressing identity through art using digital and body art technologies.

Wellbeing 4 Lifestyle Festival

In collaboration with the High Commission of India, the festival hosted yoga and meditation sessions for all ages.

Family Sports Bonanza

A dynamic outdoor zone featuring interactive bicycle simulator races, obstacle course challenges, and rugby workshops with support from INEX Club and the Cyprus Rugby Federation.

Young Influencer Contest 2025

Massive congratulations to 10-year-old Kira Zakharova who creatively translated Youth Tech Fest promotion and transformed it into a dynamic short video, complete with special effects and an original character holding the banner from the top! Her goal? To make the promotion more accessible and engaging for her audience while showcasing her editing, translation, and artistic   skills.
