Antonis Tziarridis Explores Identity and Transformation in New Exhibition

Artistic Narratives of Self-Discovery and Inclusion

Staring into the discomfort of self-exploration, a sense of unease unfolds—one that can only be understood by those who navigate the search for identity. Through his visual work, Antonis Tziarridis delves into this relentless process of self-awareness, crafting an artistic universe where thought and expression continuously expand. He does not shy away from difficult themes; instead, he engages with everyday life in a way that seeks true resonance while remaining deeply connected to himself.

In his work, Tziarridis revisits forms from the past, not as nostalgic references but as elements redefined and imbued with new meanings. His figures evolve, shedding burdens or gaining new significance, shaping a narrative that moves beyond stereotypes and opens new paths of interpretation.

Tziarridis' latest body of work is inspired by childhood memories and the influence of his grandmother, Anna, who was a seamstress. The act of weaving and shaping fabrics becomes a form of storytelling, creating a dialogue between his art and his grandmother’s craft. His figures acquire a voice while continuously shifting toward the contemporary, redefining their existence through transformation.

Through this metamorphic process, the artist removes the initial discomfort from his work, highlighting the importance of inclusion. His figures find their place, reconfigure themselves, and take on new forms, rejecting notions of marginalization. The interplay of color and material intervention counteracts any sense of exclusion, fostering a conversation that transcends pessimism in search of a more meaningful form of belonging.

What distinguishes Tziarridis’ work is his multi-layered approach to form. Whether draped in fabrics or constructed with enriched materials, his figures are not merely about aesthetics but engage in a profound internal dialogue. His art does not reproduce fixed patterns but transforms them, embracing diversity, inclusion, and acceptance.
