Neapolis University Pafos Launches Two English-Language Law Degrees

Starting in September 2025, it will offer law programs fully delivered in Cyprus with degrees awarded by the University of Reading.

Neapolis University Pafos announced the launch of two English-language law degree programs starting in September 2025, which will be fully delivered on its campus in Cyprus.

According to an official statement released during a press conference held at the university in Pafos, the institution has entered a "strategic partnership" with the University of Reading, which is ranked 172nd globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025.

This collaboration marks a “new era” in higher legal education in Cyprus. From the academic year 2025–2026, two new English-language law programs will be offered, with degrees awarded directly by the University of Reading.

The two programs include:

  • LLB in Law – a three-year undergraduate degree

  • LLM in International Commercial Law – a postgraduate degree offering four specialization pathways:
    a) International Commercial Law with Corporate Finance
    b) International Commercial Law with Banking Law and Financial Regulation
    c) International Commercial Law with Intellectual Property Law and Management
    d) International Commercial Law with Dispute Resolution (Note: Repeated specializations in original text consolidated and corrected here for clarity)

During the event, George M. Leptos, Chairman of the University Council, described the partnership as a “breakthrough of international significance,” reinforcing the university’s presence on the global academic map.

At the press conference, Professor Pantelis Sklias, Rector of Neapolis University, and Professor James Devenney, Dean of the School of Law at the University of Reading, presented the scope and content of the collaboration, highlighting the academic, professional, and social prospects these new programs offer.

The agreement is based on a franchise model, ensuring full academic equivalence and adherence to high-quality standards. As stated, students will study in an international educational environment, benefiting from modern teaching methods and access to world-class academic resources.
