Theodoros Loukaidis Reappointed as Chief Executive of Cyprus RIF
Loukaidis has already served in the role for the past five years.
The Board of Directors of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) of Cyprus has announced the reappointment of Theodoros Loukaidis as its Director General for a new five-year term.
Loukaidis, who has already served as RIF’s Director General for the past five years, is credited with playing a key role in the rapid growth and strengthened performance of Cyprus’s research and innovation ecosystem, both in European and international metrics.
He holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, a Master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London, and a First Class Honours Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST in the UK. His academic background is complemented by significant managerial experience in both domestic and international business environments.
In a statement, the President of the RIF Board, Demetris Skourides, expressed full confidence in Loukaidis’ capabilities, emphasizing the Foundation’s goal of continuing to implement the National R&I Strategy. He highlighted RIF’s ambition to further evolve as a strong, interconnected, and internationally competitive research and innovation hub in the region.
