Cyprus Advertising Regulation Organisation Announces New Board

Operating Since 2012, the Organization Has Reviewed Over 200 Complaints and Published More Than 90 Decisions on Its Website

At the recent General Assembly of the Advertising Regulation Organisation, a new Board of Directors was elected and formed. The new Board comprises:

  • President: Sotiroulla Sotiriou / Cyprus Advertisers Association (CAA)

  • Vice President: Despo Lefkariti / Cyprus Association of Advertising and Communication (CAAC)

  • Secretary: Iosif Iosif / Sigma TV

  • Treasurer: Charis Nikolaidis / Arktinos Publications

  • Members: Areti Anastasiadou, Marios Ioannou / CAAC; Lefteris Athanasiou, Melina Skordelli / CAA; Anna Antoniou / SPP Media; Nikos Kotsonopoulos / ANT1; Renos Onoufriou / Fileleftheros; Konstantinos Christou / Adboard Media

The re-elected President of the Organization, Sotiroulla Sotiriou, expressed gratitude for the trust and support: "Allow me to extend a heartfelt 'thank you' for your confidence in me and my re-election. It is a pleasure to see the entire advertising industry supporting the Advertising Regulation Organisation and effectively self-regulating with success. Over the past two years, the Organization has made key decisions, gained more members, and strengthened strategic partnerships. We will move even more dynamically in the future, expanding our scope of action, collaborating with institutional and state bodies, and communicating our work to targeted audiences."

The Advertising Regulation Organisation is a private, non-profit company primarily responsible for monitoring advertisements in Cyprus to ensure they are legal, decent, honest, created with a sense of social responsibility, and truthful. Operating since 2012, the Organization has reviewed over 200 complaints and published more than 90 decisions on its website. Since 2013, it has been a member of the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA). Similar bodies operate in 21 European Union countries.
