Thomas A. Kazakos, Is the First Lobbyist to Be Registered in the Lobbyist Registry of the Independent Authority Against Corruption
The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) has announced that its Director General, Thomas A. Kazakos, is the first lobbyist to be registered in the Lobbyist Registry of the Independent Authority Against Corruption.
According to a CSC announcement, the Chamber promptly responded to the Authority's call from November 2023 to apply for registration in the relevant Registry, aiming to support the establishment of a framework for transparency in public decision-making processes through lobbying.
"This distinct recognition confirms the Shipping Chamber's continuous commitment to high standards of transparency, ethics, and professionalism in the services it has provided for 35 years to its member companies and Cypriot Shipping," the announcement stated.
The CSC extends its sincere thanks to the Independent Authority Against Corruption for approving and initiating the institutionalization of best practices in lobbying. This move will further enhance transparency and integrity, principles that the Chamber has championed since its inception.
Finally, the Chamber encourages other Professional Associations and more consulting firms active in lobbying to register, promoting a positive image of lobbying and Cyprus in general, in terms of transparency and responsibility.
