Kavita Patel Appointed New CEO of Roche for Cyprus and Greece
Kavita Patel Brings Over 20 Years of Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry to Roche Hellas
Kavita Patel is the new Chief Executive Officer of Roche Hellas S.A. for Greece and Cyprus, effective June 1, 2024. She succeeds Ezat Azem, who will continue his career with the company as President and CEO of Roche Pharma Korea.
According to the official announcement, in her role at Roche Hellas, Kavita Patel will oversee all business activities in both markets. She will focus on continuing the company's successful trajectory, further developing the business, and promoting value-added solutions across all sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.
Kavita Patel brings over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to Roche Hellas. She joined Hoffmann-La Roche in 2002 and has since held various international roles at Roche's headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, as well as at Genentech, a Roche subsidiary in the U.S. She has extensive experience in ensuring patient access to Roche's therapeutic options worldwide and has led the lifecycle management (from development to commercial launch) of several Roche products for infectious diseases, and more recently, for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Additionally, she has 13 years of experience in sales, marketing, and market access for new therapeutic options in the U.S., and has successfully managed various teams, promoting a more empowered, patient-centric approach.
Kavita Patel holds a PharmD and an MBA from Drake University in the U.S. and completed her postdoctoral research in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research at the University of Washington. She is also a member of the Roche Women Professional Group and the international Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.
