21,000 Takata Airbag Recalls Still Pending in Cyprus
Authorities urge vehicle owners to book appointments immediately as thousands of cars remain at risk.
A total of 21,000 Takata airbag recalls remain pending in Cyprus, according to Marios Chatzigeorgiou, an official from the Department of Road Transport, who spoke on RIK's Proino Dromologio.
He clarified that this figure does not include immobilized or deregistered vehicles, which amount to around 7,000.
Chatzigeorgiou added that while some affected owners may have already scheduled service appointments, a large number have yet to make contact. He urged them to arrange an appointment immediately to ensure their safety.
Despite repeated warnings, many vehicle owners have not yet responded to the recall. Authorities emphasize that timely replacement of the defective airbags is critical to preventing serious injuries in the event of an accident.
