The investigation into the cold-blooded murder of Stavros Demosthenous in Limassol is accelerating, with police reportedly issuing an arrest warrant for a 44-year-old Greek Cypriot man from Nicosia. According to information from multiple sources, the scooter—found earlier in the Agios Tychonas area—is not reported stolen, leading investigators to believe the owner may be directly linked to the getaway operation following the arson of a van used in the crime. Police are actively seeking the man to question him about his potential involvement.

Police Intensify Investigation Amid Mounting Public Pressure

Investigators have also identified another vehicle believed to have been used by the perpetrators to escape after abandoning and setting fire to the van in Germasogeia. High-ranking officers from the Limassol Police Department and the Police Headquarters are currently on site, coordinating what officials describe as “an all-out effort” to connect the critical evidence points.

Earlier today, the autopsy on the victim was completed at Nicosia General Hospital by state pathologist Dr. Nicholas Charalambous. Findings revealed that Demosthenous suffered at least two gunshot wounds to the head, with his death attributed to severe cranial trauma caused by bullets from a firearm.

Police have collected numerous witness statements, reviewed CCTV footage, and are analyzing physical evidence gathered from the crime scene and surrounding areas.
