Cyprus Launches Two Affordable Rent Projects in 2026
The Cyprus Land Development Corporation is looking forward to the commencement of two new housing projects in 2026, which will be implemented as part of the affordable rent scheme, the Chair of the Organization, Elena Koushou, said on Wednesday, during a press conference in Nicosia.
Koushou underlined the importance of the government’s support for the implementation of housing projects and noted that the Organization "is the executive branch" with regards to the state's relevant policy. She expressed satisfaction that 247 housing units will be delivered by the end of 2026 and added that “we want to make clear that the Organization functions as a bridge between the state, the local government and the private sector.”
In regards with the housing scheme for affordable rent, Koushou reported that two major projects are underway, one in Agios Nikolaos in Limassol (138 apartments) and another in Strovolos in Nicosia (54 apartments), thanks to significant government funding of €28 million (€16 million for Limassol and €12 million for Strovolos). According to information, one of the two new projects will also be located within the area of the Limassol Municipality.
In 2025, the Organization completed a projects with 24 apartments in Larnaca. Several other projects began in Kokkinotrimithia (10 residences), in the Municipality of Polemidia (29 residences) and in the Municipalities of Lakatamia, Agios Dometios, Kaimakli and Pallouriotissa.
Koushou also mentioned that the Organizations actively participates in the construction of 500 housing units on state land, which were announced by the President of the Republic, which will be managed by the organization.
