A message in Greek, Turkish, and English was shared by Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman following the earthquake that was felt across Cyprus, with its epicentre near Paphos. Erhürman emphasized the need for joint preparedness against natural disasters.
In a statement released, the full message was also provided in Greek. Erhürman expressed hope that no damages occurred and underlined that the earthquake should serve as a reminder of the importance of “cooperation without distinctions.”
His message in Greek read:
“I hope no one suffered any damage, and that we all understand the need to prepare together—without distinctions between north and south—for earthquakes and other disasters. Get well soon, Paphos. Get well soon, Cyprus.”
