New Poll: Christodoulides Government’s Performance Rating Sinks to a Record Low
Positive or very positive evaluations of the government range between 8% and 15%.
A new public opinion survey by Cypronetwork reveals a largely critical stance towards the performance of the House of Representatives, with over four in ten Cypriots (more than 40%) rating the work of Parliament negatively or very negatively. Only 12% of respondents offered a positive evaluation for the legislative body, underscoring a notable degree of public dissatisfaction.
The same poll looked into the public’s perception of the government’s performance, with positive or very positive evaluations ranging between 8% and 15%. The government received its highest approval rates in economic management (15%) and foreign policy (14%), while its domestic governance (8%) garnered the lowest assessments.
Concerning the general perception of various political figures, Annita Demetriou leads with 27% positive responses. She is followed by Stefanos Stefanou (19%), Nikos Christodoulides (16%), and George Perdikes (15%).
Ahead of the 2026 Parliamentary Elections, the survey also delved into the characteristics that voters expect from their Members of Parliament. Key traits include honesty, being close to the people, sincerity, activeness, diligence, and the ability to inspire trust. These results highlight a public desire for genuine engagement and accountability in political leadership.

In terms of party support, DISY currently leads with 17%, followed closely by AKEL at 16%. ELAM registers a double-digit figure of 10%, trailed by DIKO at 6%. EDEK, the Ecologists (Greens), and Volt each stand at 2%, with the Party for the Animals, DIPA, and the Active Citizens–Movement of Cypriot Hunters following.
Cypronetwork gathered the survey in February 2025.
