Contract Signed for Roundabout Construction in Episkopi, Limassol

The Project Will Improve Road Access and Infrastructure in Episkopi with Completion Expected in 12 Months

The Public Works Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works signed a contract for the construction of a roundabout and the upgrade of access roads in Episkopi, Limassol.

The project is located in the Limassol district and involves building a small, level roundabout with three branches at the intersection of 25th Martiou and Kremasti streets in Episkopi. Additionally, the northern access road, situated north of the Limassol-Paphos highway, will be improved and upgraded.

According to the Ministry of Transport's announcement, the project includes the construction of sidewalks on both sides, extending 60-80 meters on each branch of the roundabout. It will also involve the installation of a small stormwater drainage system and the widening of the existing access road on the eastern side to accommodate two-way traffic. The road widening includes the creation of a concrete gutter on the extended side and the formation of a built-up traffic island at the entrance and exit points. Local slope adjustments will be made where necessary.

Project Details and Timeline

The construction process will also account for the relocation or repositioning of existing utilities, such as poles, as needed. Vertical and horizontal road markings are also part of the project.

The project is scheduled to begin in November 2024, with a completion timeframe of 12 months. The total cost is estimated at €922,215 plus VAT. The contract was signed by the Director of the Public Works Department, Eleftherios Eleftheriou, on behalf of the government, and Christos Christou, representing the company "An. Christou Properties & Constructions."
