First Phase of Agia Fyla Historic Center Revitalization Launched
Project Aims to Enhance Quality of Life and Promote Development
The first phase of the revitalization of the historic center of Agia Fyla was inaugurated on Sunday morning. The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Alexis Vafeades, described the project as one that will significantly improve the quality of life for the citizens of Agia Fyla.
During the inauguration of the first phase of the "Revitalization and Formation of the Historic Center of Agia Fyla" project, held at the square in front of the Panagia Chrysafylliotissa Church, Mr. Vafeadis congratulated the project's contributors. He emphasized that the project will enhance the appearance of the historic center and upgrade the residents' quality of life.
Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides stated that the project is a vital development that revitalizes the historic core of Agia Fyla and lays a strong foundation for a new developmental path for the city's largest parish.
"The project we inaugurate today is the pinnacle of the Municipal Council's primary policy for the revitalization and upgrading of our city's neighborhoods, which have patiently awaited the winds of developmental change for many years," he said.
The project was co-financed by the Department of Town Planning and Housing and the Limassol Municipality and was implemented following an architectural competition. The total budget for the project is €3,436,000.
