June 2024 Sees Drop In Construction Material Prices
Metal Products Lead Decline, While Electromechanical Items Show Increase
The Construction Materials Index showed a new annual decrease, the eleventh consecutive since last August, in June, with the decline driven primarily by metal products and iron.
According to data released today by the Statistical Service, the Construction Material Price Index for June 2024 stood at 117.47 points (based on 2021=100), marking an increase of 0.10% compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, the index recorded a decrease of 0.70%.
Based on Cystat data, the annual decrease is largely attributed to the metal products category, which saw a decline of 5.29% in June, while iron and steel products showed an annual decrease of 6.74%. Aluminum products also recorded a decrease, albeit to a lesser extent, falling by 2.17% annually.
