According to the Statistical Service, the Construction Materials Price Index for May 2024 decreased by 1.32% compared to May 2023. For the period of January-May 2024, the index recorded a decrease of 1.81% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
In May 2024, the Index stood at 117.35 points (based on 2021=100), recording a marginal increase of 0.11% compared to the previous month.
By product category, decreases were recorded in metal products (-6.68%), while increases were noted in electromechanical items (3.24%), minerals (1.01%), mineral products (0.49%), and wood products, insulation, chemicals, and plastics (0.30%).
