The Rise in Demand for Airbnb Continues in Greece
The demand for Airbnb accommodations continues to increase, according to the latest report on the evolution of short-term rentals in the European market by the analysis company AirDNA (with data from the Airbnb and VRBO platforms).
In Greece, demand in June increased by 22% compared to last year, placing the country in the top ten with the highest rise in the first month of summer.
Finland ranks first in demand increase with 32%, followed by Norway with 29% and Poland with 28%, indicating that tourists are opting for cooler destinations during the summer months. At the bottom of the list are Italy, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Ireland, all showing double-digit increases compared to last June.
Regarding the change in average daily rate (ADR), occupancy, and revenue per available room (RevPAR), Greece shows an increase in occupancy.
According to the AirDNA report, the demand for Europe shows no signs of slowing down. The demand for August is up 20% compared to last year, while bookings for September and October have increased by 18% compared to the previous year.
It is noteworthy that according to the previous report on the European market, the demand for Airbnb accommodations recorded an 18% increase this summer, with Greece ranking 11th among the twenty largest European markets.
