In Helsinki, the Cypriot Research and Innovation Ecosystem marked its presence, participating in the international entrepreneurial event SLUSH 2023, following an initiative by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).

An announcement from the foundation stated that SLUSH 2023 was held between November 30 and December 1, attracting the interest of over 8,000 entrepreneurs and investors from around the world.

The RIF delegation consisted of seven Cypriot startups - ecorbio, Codewheel, Efevre Tech Ltd, Periopsis, Moving Doors, Vevivo, and DCentric Health. These companies had the opportunity to present their products/services to potential investors. Thousands of SLUSH participants visited the Cypriot pavilion, where RIF representatives informed them about the prospects of the innovation and technology sector in Cyprus, as well as various incentives and tools that make the island an attractive destination for innovative businesses and foreign investors.

On the second day of the conference, the Foundation organized the event "#BreakingGrounds at Slush: The Tech Gala of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary & Poland", in cooperation with corresponding organizations in Poland, Bulgaria, and Hungary. The Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation, and Technology, Dimitris Skourides, showcased the country's R&I ecosystem to numerous international entrepreneurs and investors, highlighting the country's high performance in the sector. The Cypriot startups participating in the mission also had the opportunity to make separate presentations of their activities.

During the visit to Finland, Mr. Skourides, along with the General Director of RIF, Theodoros Loukaidis, and board member Spyros Christofides, held a series of meetings with senior executives of technology companies. They also met with the Ambassador of Cyprus in Finland, Dimitris Samuel.

It is also mentioned that the support of the participation of Cypriot companies in the entrepreneurial and innovation festival Slush is part of the activities of the Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus, in which RIF participates as a partner.
