Last week, a groundbreaking event titled "Technology Startups: Opportunities and Challenges" took place in London, organized by the "Gen Y Innovation Network." This dynamic network serves as the youth entrepreneurial arm of the esteemed United Kingdom-Cyprus Enterprise Council (UKCEC), in partnership with "EPISTEME," the British-Cypriot Professionals' Association.

The primary objective of the Gen Y Innovation Network is to foster innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship among the vibrant community of young Cypriots in the United Kingdom, as well as friends of Cyprus and individuals with business interests in the region. With a broader vision, UKCEC is dedicated to cultivating strong business partnerships between the UK and Cyprus and promoting cooperation among young professionals and entrepreneurs from diverse sectors, spanning services, commerce, industry, finance and investment, arts, science, and academia.

The event provided a platform for distinguished speakers to share their invaluable insights from the realms of technology, startups, artificial intelligence, data science, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and innovation. A diverse array of attendees, including investors, entrepreneurs, and pioneers in their respective fields, eagerly participated in the enriching discussions. Chaired by the esteemed President of UKCEC, Peter Drousiotis, the panel of speakers brought a wealth of expertise to the forefront.

Isabella Hadjisavva, co-founder of Gen Y Innovation Network, showcased her expertise in the exciting realm of financial technology. Dimitrios Zopos, an investor and founder of a fund focused on technology startups with Cypriot interest, shared his valuable experiences. Nadia El Hanteri, the visionary founder of an interactive platform that promotes innovation in the food industry through cutting-edge technologies, also captivated the audience. George Frangos, a distinguished CEO of an analytics company and technology investor, added his unique perspective to the event. Lastly, Sam Taylor, Director of Investments at PwC Raise, contributed his extensive knowledge from the world of technology.
