REA Selects e-DIPLOMA Project Among 8 EU-Funded Initiatives for AI-Driven Paradigm Shift
Horizon Europe’s Initiative to Transform E-Learning with Cutting-Edge Technologies
The European Research Executive Agency has recently recognized the e-DIPLOMA Project under the Horizon Europe program as one of the eight transformative EU-funded projects. These projects are set to bring paradigm shifts in various fields through Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven technologies.
The e-DIPLOMA Project is leading the charge in revolutionizing the education sector within the European Union. The shift to online learning has presented significant challenges, including technological gaps, teacher training needs, and limited student access to digital resources. To address these issues, the e-DIPLOMA project is poised to transform e-learning through the integration of AI, virtual reality, interactive tools, chatbots, and gamification.
Implemented by a consortium of 23 organizations across Europe, the project stands out for its co-creation approach. This approach involves collaboration with educators, students, families, and policymakers to develop inclusive, accessible, and sustainable e-learning practices. As one of the participants in the project, the Center for Social Innovation - CSI has proudly announced this recognition as a significant leap forward in their commitment to social innovation.
Since 2014, the REA has managed an increasing number of AI-related projects. Currently, REA oversees more than 1,000 projects with AI focus or utilization, receiving over €1.7 billion in EU funding under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs. These projects, including the e-DIPLOMA, are not only advancing AI technologies but also integrating AI into various sectors, such as health, environmental protection, democracy, security, and education, while addressing ethical questions and challenges posed by AI.
