AI Digital Assistant Now Available via "Digital Citizen" App in Cyprus

24/7 support in Greek, English, and Greeklish for social benefits, digital ID, and more through the Ministry’s AI chatbot.

The AI Digital Assistant is now also accessible through the "Digital Citizen" app as of today, Monday, according to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry of Innovation.

The announcement adds that the Digital Assistant responds to citizens’ queries on a 24-hour basis in Greek, English, and even in Greeklish characters. Users can submit their questions either by typing them or using voice input through the app’s voice assistant feature.

The Deputy Ministry states that the AI Digital Assistant addresses topics related to Social Insurance Services—such as parental leave, unemployment, maternity/paternity or sickness benefits, statutory and disability pensions, social insurance, and termination of employment—as well as Welfare Benefits, including child benefit, single-parent family allowance, Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI), allowance for mothers of large families, tuition fee subsidy schemes, and care and accommodation subsidies for elderly residents.

It also provides support on issues related to the electronic ID (eID), vehicle recalls, and the Digital Citizen application itself.

The Ministry notes that the range of topics covered by the AI Digital Assistant will continue to expand. So far, the assistant has received over 55,000 queries via the gov.cy portal, averaging around 500 questions per day.
