Cyprus and Greece Launch €2M Joint Funding Call for Research and Innovation
The program offers funding of up to €100,000 per national network in each country.
In a move to bolster collaboration between Cyprus and Greece in research, innovation, and advanced technology adoption, the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) of Cyprus and Greece’s General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) have launched a new joint funding call under the “Transnational Collaborations” Program, with a total budget of €2 million.
The program offers funding of up to €100,000 per national network in each country, aiming to foster partnerships between research institutions, academic organizations, and businesses from Cyprus and Greece.
The funding will support projects that align with selected Smart Specialization Strategy themes, including:

Digital technologies

Agri-food
-
Marine and maritime ecosystems

Renewable energy sources
-
Health
Each collaborative network must include at least one research/academic organization and one business entity from both countries to qualify.
This funding initiative is co-financed by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Regional Development Fund under the “THALEIA 2021–2027” Cohesion Policy Program.
Proposals must be submitted through RIF’s IRIS Portal by February 27, 2025.
