Cyprus' SocialTech Lab's Peace Innovation Model on Display at European Dialogues in Sarajevo
SocialTech Lab, a Cyprus-based organisation pioneering peace innovation through entrepreneurship and technology, showcased its unique model at the European Dialogues held in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
European Dialogues, organised by Institut Francais as part of the Shared Horizons programme, gathered policymakers, civil society leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and academics from across Europe. The 3-day event opened with high-level discussions on peacebuilding and democratic resilience. Burak Doluay, SocialTech Lab’s Co-Founder and Director of Innovation, joined a panel to share insights from Cyprus’ divided context, highlighting how innovation and entrepreneurship can serve as bridges across communities in conflict.
SocialTech Lab also facilitated an interactive workshop, offering participants an in-depth look at the organisation’s story, methodology, peacetech examples, and impact model applied across three regions. The session highlighted how SocialTech Lab designs and implements innovation programmes that foster cross-border collaboration, support entrepreneurs in fragile contexts, and build ecosystems rooted in both innovation and reconciliation.
European Dialogues in Bosnia-Herzegovina is part of the Shared Horizons programme, which brings together young voices of civil society and research from the Western Balkans and across Europe. Held thirty years after the Dayton-Paris Accords, the dialogues served as a platform to explore societies’ aspirations for the future and the role of trust in peace, democracy, and resilience.
SocialTech Lab’s participation in the European Dialogues underscores the growing recognition that innovation in conflict transformation is a vital approach to addressing evolving challenges in divided and post-conflict societies.
