It will allow users to issue and store key documents, including identity cards, driving licenses, and vehicle roadworthiness certificates.
The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, announced the launch of the "Digital Citizen" app, a joint initiative between Cyprus and Greece. Speaking at the “2nd Greece – Cyprus Summit | Advancing Together,” organized in Nicosia by Boussias Cyprus in cooperation with Invest Cyprus, under the auspices of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, the President highlighted the app’s importance in streamlining citizen services.
The "Digital Citizen" app was developed following an agreement between the two countries. It will be available in Cyprus starting December 5 and will allow users to issue and store key documents, including identity cards, driving licenses, and vehicle roadworthiness certificates. Additional documents and certificates will be added in the future.
President Christodoulides noted that the app’s launch is part of ongoing efforts to interconnect digital applications in Cyprus and Greece. The initiative, supported by the second Intergovernmental Meeting, represents "a tangible result of cooperation with a positive impact on the daily lives of citizens," the President emphasized.
