European Researchers’ Night 2025 in Cyprus

Science and Innovation Meet Entertainment in Nicosia

The European Researchers’ Night returns to Cyprus for the 19th consecutive year under the theme “Mission Possible – The sequel!”. Once again, the event highlights how technology, research, and innovation can provide solutions to global challenges while offering entertainment for all ages.

This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 26, at the Cyprus State Fair (Halls A & B) in Nicosia, running from 08:30 in the morning until 22:00 in the evening. It is part of the annual pan-European celebration of science, research, and innovation, held simultaneously in 25 countries and more than 460 cities across Europe and beyond, attracting over 1.5 million visitors worldwide.

In Cyprus, the event is organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) in collaboration with leading stakeholders in research, innovation, and business. It is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides.

Its primary goal is to promote a research culture, connect science with society and innovation, and showcase the research activities carried out by universities, centers of excellence, and innovative companies.

This year’s central theme once again focuses on the five EU Missions, addressing major societal challenges:

  1. Adaptation to Climate Change

  2. Cancer Prevention and Control

  3. Healthy Oceans, Seas, and Waters

  4. Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities

  5. Healthy Soils and Food

At the Cyprus State Fair, visitors will have the chance to explore more than 70 stands staffed by scientists, attend presentations and interactive experiments, and engage with cutting-edge technology, multimedia, and simulations. The program also includes the use of scientific equipment, games, competitions, and a variety of entertaining activities.

For the first time this year, visitors will also be able to interact with famous scientists from the past and future in hologram form, asking questions and receiving answers in real time.

The full program is available here: European Researchers’ Night Cyprus Programme.

The event is funded by the European Commission under the European project “MISSION POSSIBLE: Researchers on Board for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future” (Grant Agreement No. 101160964).
