LVLUP Accelerator: Google for Startups, NVO Lab, and GDCy Spearhead New Gaming Hub in Cyprus

Applications for Participation in the Program Are Accepted Until February 29, 2024

Google for Startups, NVO Lab, and GDCy are inaugurating the LVLUP Accelerator for gaming companies in Cyprus, according to a recent press release. The LVLUP Accelerator is designed to support new Cypriot gaming studios and startups, fostering their development and attracting gaming businesses to Cyprus.

The program will provide participating companies with invaluable assistance, including support for business development, access to an international network of gaming experts and consultants, and help with fundraising.

The press release states that The Games Fund, GEM Capital, and Green Grey will act as partners, leveraging their extensive expertise in the gaming sector to support the participants. Additionally, the CYENS Center of Excellence will play a vital role, overseeing the AR/VR/XR segment of the educational program.

Throughout the duration of the program, selected teams will participate in expert sessions and workshops, collaborating with consultants from distinguished gaming companies, publishers, and investment programs. Most of the program will be conducted online, with live events also scheduled in Cyprus.

The accelerator partners include The Games Fund, GEM Capital, Green Grey, CYENS Center of Excellence, Tech Island, and Borscht.

Applications for participation in the program are accepted until February 29, 2024. The accelerator program will run from March to May. The LVLUP Accelerator Demo Day will take place on May 31 at the GDCy fest.

Vladislav Zdorenko, Managing Partner of NVO Capital and Founder of NVO Lab, stated that over the last six years, more than 80 accelerator programs for startups have been conducted in Eastern Europe. "As a strategic move, we are extending our knowledge and support to promising gaming companies in Cyprus. NVO Capital's investment focus on entertainment gives us the opportunity to find companies for investments and collaborations," he mentioned.

Moreover, Tim Fadeev, Founder of GDCy - GameDev Cyprus, mentioned that the introduction of the LVLUP Accelerator is a new avenue to maintain their commitment to the development and progress of the gaming industry.

Mariusz Gąsiewski, CEE Mobile Gaming and Apps Lead at Google, said that gaming is an integral part of Google's initiatives and they are eager to support the development of ambitious gaming companies through collaboration and growth opportunities.

Ilya Eremeev, Co-founder and Managing Partner of The Games Fund, commented that Cyprus is an emerging hub for gaming development and a key area for The Games Fund.
