SPACE BIC: Ambitious Launch of Cyprus’ First Business Incubator for Space Technology Startups
Startups, teams, and entrepreneurs are invited to join Cyprus’ new space innovation hub.
The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence has officially launched the Space Business Innovation Centre (SPACE BIC) in Cyprus, extending an open invitation to startups, teams, and entrepreneurs interested in developing businesses based on space technologies. The initiative aims to support and nurture space-driven entrepreneurship in Cyprus.
The launch event took place on Tuesday evening in the presence of international figures from science and business, highlighting the new opportunities available for Cypriot startups in the field of space technology.
Dr. Diofantos Hadjimitsis, CEO of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, described the launch as a milestone not only for the Centre but also for Cyprus and the wider region. “With SPACE BIC, we are opening new doors for entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers ready to turn bold ideas into tangible solutions that benefit society, the economy, and our planet,” he said.
He added that SPACE BIC marks a decisive step toward creating a thriving ecosystem of space innovation in Cyprus, offering resources, mentoring, and networks to help startups grow.
Dr. Hadjimitsis expressed gratitude to his team, all stakeholders, and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy for their support and funding of the initiative.
