Apple to Unveil iPhone 16 on September 9—When Will It Hit Cyprus Stores?
"It's Glowtime" Event to Introduce AI-Powered Siri and New Wearable Products
Apple will officially reveal the new iPhone 16 and other devices on September 9, not on September 10 as previously speculated. The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino, California.
Titled "It's Glowtime," the event will highlight a new version of Siri, Apple's digital assistant, which will be integrated into the latest devices and powered by artificial intelligence and OpenAI technologies.
The iPhone 16 is expected to bring significant changes, including larger screens on the Pro models and new camera capabilities, such as a dedicated photo capture button. However, the spotlight will likely be on the further development of Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI-driven features that will be available across all new iPhone models.
In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is preparing significant updates to its line of smartwatches and refreshed AirPods. The next standard Apple Watch will feature larger screens and a slimmer design, while, for the first time, an affordable plastic version of the Watch SE is in development.
The company is also planning two new AirPods models: a new budget version to replace the 2019 model and an upgrade for the mid-range AirPods introduced in 2021. Both models will feature a new design similar to the AirPods Pro, with the mid-range version set to include noise-canceling capabilities for the first time.
This event is critical for Apple as it aims to revitalize growth in both the iPhone and wearable product categories. In its latest earnings report, Apple hinted that iPhone sales in the current quarter will likely remain steady, without making any specific projections for the holiday season.
Apple is expected to release the new iPhones in stores around September 20, which means the first 10 days of sales will be included in the current fiscal quarter. The company could see a further boost in October, when Apple Intelligence will be released as part of iOS 18.1. The initial iPhone 16 models are expected to launch with iOS 18.0, which will not include many of the AI-driven improvements.
The event will be streamed live at 8:00 PM (Cyprus time) through Apple's official YouTube channel.
As with the iPhone 15 last year, Apple aims to make the iPhone 16 available everywhere on the same day, September 20, including in Cyprus stores.
