Under the motto “Awareness Leads to Change” AKTI Project and Research Center (Cyprus), Runoart (Athens), and Studio 18 (Malta) announce the launch of CoRES. This innovative, interdisciplinary European project aims to bring together representatives from the Cultural and Creative Sector —one of the most underrepresented sectors in environmental dialogue— with experts in the fields of Environment and Sustainability.

Recognizing that the Mediterranean is a hotspot for climate change, organizations from Greece, Malta, and Cyprus will collaborate to co-create solutions for a more resilient art world towards the climate crisis. Through innovative and applied participatory research methods, the project will highlight gaps, needs, and barriers to the green transition of the Cultural and Creative Sector, while equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to co-design the solutions for a sustainable transition.

By fostering public participation, gender equality, and inclusion through co-creation cafés for youth, sustainability and inclusion workshops, boot camps, and other initiatives, CoRES aims to develop local, European, and global networks of well-informed and empowered cultural and creative practitioners. These professionals will be prepared to actively participate in decision- making processes aimed at improving their sector’s readiness to face the challenges posed by the climate crisis.

CoRES is co-funded by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission under the Culture strand of Creative Europe 2021 – 2027.
