The European Commission is expected to inform car manufacturers today that it will temporarily impose additional tariffs of up to 25% on imported electric vehicles produced in China starting next month, according to the Financial Times, citing sources in Brussels.

The Commission appears determined to proceed with this measure despite warnings from the German government that it risks triggering an extremely costly trade war with China, the newspaper adds.
