Positive prospects alongside prevailing uncertainty in the tourism sector were jointly identified by ACTE, the Minister of Labor, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism at their recent meeting.

According to a press release from the Association of Cyprus Tourist Enterprises, the members of its Executive Board engaged in a highly constructive and open discussion with Yiannis Panagiotou, Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, and Kostas Koumis, Deputy Minister of Tourism.

The two government officials were invited to participate in ACTE's first session of 2024, where they presented their views on the primary tourism and employment issues related to the sector. This was followed by a productive discussion and exchange of opinions, with an agreement to continue regular communication between the Association and the ministries, as has been the practice.

A consensus among the participants was that, although 2024 could be a positive year for the tourism sector under current conditions, significant uncertainties stemming from both external and internal fronts could overturn expectations, as stated in the report.

ACTE expressed gratitude to the Minister of Labor for his particular interest in the hotel sector and the improvements seen in recent months. They also thanked the Deputy Minister of Tourism for his continuous efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Cyprus's tourism product.

ACTE, as stated, will once again maintain a constructive and supportive stance on all issues concerning the hotel industry.

"We also call on all other stakeholders to do the same for the benefit of Cyprus's economy," stated Akis Vavlitis, president of ACTE.
