The government is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East, and "everyone is on alert," stated the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Alexis Vafeadis.

Responding to a question regarding flights connecting Cyprus with Israel, the Minister said that "Cyprus's air connectivity with Israel is maintained. Some airlines have chosen to temporarily halt their flight schedules to Tel Aviv, but there are companies that continue their flights as usual."

He added that "the government is monitoring the evolving situation in the region, everyone is on alert, and the public will be informed accordingly."

Additionally, information from Hermes Airports indicated that the cancellations of scheduled flights to Tel Aviv are being balanced by additional flights from other companies that continue their operations.

So far, two European airlines, Aegean and Wizz Air, have temporarily suspended their flights from Larnaca to Tel Aviv until August 11.

Other airlines, both Israeli and those based in Cyprus that fly to Tel Aviv, have some cancellations in their scheduled flights, but the flight schedule is balanced by some additional flights from other companies.

As for flights to Beirut, they do not appear to be affected by the current situation in the region at this time.
