Black Friday Hits Cyprus — But Don’t Expect U.S.-Style Mega Discounts

Tech products dominate consumer interest.

The Cypriot market is entering a “Black Friday frenzy,” with consumers getting ready for this year’s purchases.

Speaking to Brief, the General Secretary of the Cyprus Retail Association, Marios Antoniou, stated that prices, as every year, will be reduced by 20% to 30%.

Products marked down 35%–40% or more will mainly be older stock items.

According to Antoniou, during Black Friday the public’s attention is primarily focused on technology products and electronic devices, though there is also interest in other categories such as clothing, footwear, DIY items, and furniture.

He highlighted, however, that because Cyprus is a small market, it will never reach the levels of the US or larger European countries, where Black Friday discounts can reach 70% to 80%.
