BYD Enters Cyprus Market - First BYD Models Unveiled in Nicosia

A New Era for Electric Mobility and Sustainable Transport

The Sfakianakis Group, through Alpan Group, has announced its strategic partnership with BYD, the global leader in New Energy Vehicles, officially launching the Chinese brand in the Cypriot market. The collaboration was celebrated with a high-profile event at the renovated Old GSP Square in Nicosia, where BYD's electric and plug-in hybrid models were presented to the public for the first time in Cyprus.

The four initial models distributed exclusively by Alpan Group include the BYD ATTO 3 (C-SUV), BYD SEAL (D-Sedan), BYD SEAL U DM-i (PHEV), and the BYD SEALION 7 (D-SUV). These vehicles integrate cutting-edge features such as the world’s fastest mass-produced electric motor (SEALION 7), Cell-to-Body construction for enhanced safety (SEAL, SEALION 7), and a combined range exceeding 1,000 km in the SEAL U DM-i.

The event drew officials, including government ministers, the Chinese Ambassador, and key stakeholders from the business, media, and scientific communities. A highlight was BYD’s interactive robot, captivating guests with its real-time engagement.

Sfakianakis Group Chairman & CEO Stavros P. Takis described the launch as a milestone for Cyprus and affirmed the Group’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and a green mobility future. Two modern BYD showrooms will open in Nicosia and Limassol, backed by ready-to-deliver vehicle stock.

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li emphasized Cyprus as part of BYD’s European expansion and vision for clean mobility, including future innovations like Flash Charging and the Super e-Platform.
