Chinese Government Announces Temporary Visa Waiver for Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, and Slovenia
Cyprus, along with three other European countries, has been included in China's new visa-free entry policy.
According to Lin Jian, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "To further promote cross-border travel, China has decided to expand its visa waiver program on a trial basis to ordinary passport holders from Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, and Slovenia."
During a regular press briefing on Monday, Lin Jian announced, "From October 15, 2024, to December 31, 2025, ordinary passport holders from these four countries can enter China without a visa and stay for up to 15 days for business, tourism, family visits, or transit."
In this context, he added, "We encourage these countries to offer more facilitation for visa issuance to Chinese nationals."
