Cyprus Airports See Record Passenger Traffic in 2024

Larnaca and Paphos Airports Record Over 8.17 Million Passengers From January to August, Reflecting a 4.67% Year-On-Year Increase

During the January-August period this year, Larnaca and Paphos airports recorded the highest passenger traffic in their history, according to the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works.

In a statement, the Ministry reported that passenger traffic at the airports reached 8,179,421, marking a 4.67% increase compared to 2023.

This steady upward trend is also reflected in the August 2024 passenger traffic, which totaled 1,602,810 passengers, a 5.71% rise compared to the same period in 2023.

Larnaca Airport saw an 8.53% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year, while Paphos Airport experienced a slight decrease of 1.10%.

With the United Kingdom, Greece, Poland, Israel, and Germany being the primary markets, aircraft traffic increased by 14% compared to 2023, totaling 11,431 flights, the statement concluded.
