Cyprus Launches New Automated Export System
Aligning with EU Standards
The new Automated Export System (AES) of the Department of Customs is operational from today. According to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, this new system replaces the existing Export Control System. It encompasses electronic submission of export and re-export clarifications, notifications, and Summarized Exit Clarifications.
As noted, the implementation of the new Export System was an obligation for the Republic of Cyprus as a member state of the European Union. This move aligns with the Union Customs Code, which sets the general rules and regimes applicable to goods entering or exiting the customs territory of the EU. The system is tailored to modern commercial models and communication tools.
