Top Cypriot Litigator Clinches Prestigious Global Arbitration Court Seat

Stavros Pavlou Appointed to ICC International Court of Arbitration

Cypriot lawyer Stavros Pavlou has been appointed to the prestigious ICC International Court of Arbitration, a move celebrating his 35-year legal career and boosting Cyprus as an international arbitration hub.

Landmark Appointment for Cyprus

Cypriot lawyer Stavros Pavlou has been appointed as a new member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), following a proposal by the ICC Cyprus National Committee, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

According to the CCCI, the appointment was made by the ICC World Council, which convened on June 11. The ICC International Court of Arbitration is based in Paris.

Extensive Legal Expertise

Pavlou is Executive Chairman of Patrikios Legal and has more than 35 years of experience in corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration, representing clients in complex dispute resolution cases before courts in Cyprus and abroad.

He is a member of the ICC Cyprus National Committee and an appointed delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.

Boosting Cyprus' Global Standing

The CCCI said the ICC International Court of Arbitration is one of the world’s leading institutions for resolving international commercial and business disputes.

ICC Cyprus National Committee President Phidias Pilides welcomed Pavlou’s appointment, saying it recognised his long-standing contribution to arbitration, as well as the Committee’s efforts to promote Cyprus as a centre for international arbitration.
