DP World Limassol Secures Major Vehicle Transshipment Deal
Strategic Agreement Aims to Position Limassol Port as Key Hub for Vehicle Storage and Export
A new vehicle transshipment agreement at Limassol Port’s multi-purpose terminal, managed by DP World Limassol, opens fresh opportunities for local and regional markets, according to an official announcement by the company.
For the first time in nearly two decades, a structured transshipment agreement has been implemented. The deal involves approximately 10,000 new vehicles from Asia and 7,000 from other countries, which will be stored at the Limassol terminal before being exported to neighboring markets.
“This transshipment framework was achieved following intensive efforts by DP World Limassol and in close cooperation with government agencies and local partners,” the company noted.
DP World Limassol emphasized its competitive edge in offering high-quality services, fast processing times, and effective storage solutions, which enabled it to successfully secure this agreement over other regional ports.
“We are particularly proud to have secured this agreement, in partnership with both public and private sector stakeholders. It highlights once again DP World Limassol’s position as a leading provider of port services in the region,” stated Simon Pitout, CEO of DP World Limassol.
“This collaboration demonstrates our ability to deliver top-tier transshipment trade solutions while underlining Limassol Port’s strategic importance in the global supply chain,” he added.
Pitout further stressed that this development is expected to deliver significant benefits to the local economy, reinforcing DP World Limassol’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation in Cyprus’s maritime sector.
