The Department of Road Transport announced that the latest round of electric vehicle (EV) grants was met with exceptionally high demand, with all available subsidies claimed within minutes of the application system going live.

Due to the limited number of grants and the volume of applications submitted in the opening moments, the system automatically closed, effectively ending this phase of the scheme shortly after it began.

Authorities clarified that additional grants may become available in the coming days if certain applications are either cancelled or left incomplete by applicants. A formal update will be provided before any such grants are posted again on the official portal.
