Employment Market Staffing: OEB Agrees to Ministry of Labor's Proposal
It Is Noted That in the Past Weeks Meetings Were Held Between the Leaderships of Trade Unions and Employer Organizations
The Executive Committee of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) decided on Thursday night to accept the framework proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance for staffing the employment market and to set and clarify its limits, according to Michalis Antoniou, the Federation's General Director.
Specifically, Mr. Antoniou stated that the OEB would inform the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Yiannis Panagiotou, today that it accepts the framework and will set and explain the limits within which the Federation can operate regarding the framework's implementation.
Mr. Antoniou also mentioned that during President Nicos Christodoulides’ visit to the OEB offices on Thursday afternoon, the Executive Committee informed him of their acceptance of the Ministry's framework and explained its limits in terms of implementation.
It is noted that in the past weeks, under the mediation of the Minister of Labour, meetings were held between the leaderships of trade unions and employer organizations, and a mediating proposal was submitted by the Minister, awaiting final positions.
