Significant growth was recorded in the sectors of information and communication, accommodation and food service activities, and administrative and support service activities.

The turnover in the Services sector increased in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, while the turnover in Transportation and Storage decreased.

Specifically, according to the Statistical Service, the Turnover Index in Services during the first quarter of 2024 showed an increase compared to the corresponding quarter of 2023 in the sectors of information and communication (14.9%), accommodation and food service activities (14.2%), administrative and support service activities (13.1%), and professional, scientific, and technical activities (4.1%).

Conversely, the real estate management sector showed a decrease (-3.2%).

Additionally, according to the Statistical Service, the Turnover Index in Transportation and Storage during the first quarter of 2024 reached 115.0 points (base year 2021=100), recording a decrease of 1.9% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2023.

By economic activity, increases were recorded in postal and courier activities (10.2%) and land transport (4.2%) compared to the first quarter of the previous year.

On the other hand, decreases were observed in air transport (-15.2%), storage and support activities (-2.6%), and water transport (-1.3%).
