Hermes Airports Launches Program to Relax Anxious Travelers
Initiative Also Promotes Adoption of Shelter Dogs
Hermes Airports has launched a new program aimed at relaxing anxious travelers and promoting the adoption of shelter dogs.
In a company announcement, it was stated, "For the next three months, once a week for two hours, specially trained dogs will be at the Departure Gates of Larnaca Airport, where passengers will have the opportunity to meet and pet them."
The announcement added, "The 'Preboarding Zen Mode' program was initiated after weeks of preparation and training. Experts taught the dogs desensitization to distractions, especially in an airport environment. All participating dogs are trained to comfort people and are accompanied by trainers to ensure safe interactions for everyone."
The initiative, the announcement continued, "is part of Hermes Airports' sustainability and social responsibility strategy, aiming to provide comfort to passengers and create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the airport. Additionally, the program highlights the importance of animal adoption, promoting the idea that shelter dogs can make excellent companions."
Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development, Marketing, and Communications at Hermes Airports, expressed satisfaction with the 'Preboarding Zen Mode' program at Larnaca Airport. "From the first day, it attracted many passengers eager to pet Triggle, a stray, friendly German Shepherd. Our goal is to enhance the passenger experience by offering a unique, positive interaction and to encourage the adoption of dogs that need a loving home," she noted.
