Jumbo: Where 2 New Stores Are Planned in Cyprus

Jumbo Expands in Cyprus with New Stores Planned for Larnaca and Protaras

Jumbo Group is reinforcing its presence in Cyprus, with plans to open two additional stores within the next five years — one in Larnaca and another in Protaras, Famagusta. The expansion comes as part of the company's broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in key markets where it already operates successfully.

Cyprus continues to be a crucial market for Jumbo, contributing 10.61% of the group’s total sales in 2024.

In 2024, Jumbo reported a turnover of €1.149 billion, a 6.33% increase compared to the previous year, while group EBITDA rose by 6.12% to €422.77 million. Net profits after taxes reached €320.1 million, marking a 5.64% year-on-year rise.

New Investments

Beyond Cyprus, Jumbo is actively pursuing new investments. The group has announced the creation of two major distribution centers — one in Oinofyta and another in Thessaloniki — representing an investment exceeding €60 million.

Internationally, Jumbo is preparing to enter its 12th country, Moldova, through a partnership with Albanian billionaire entrepreneur Samir Mane. In Romania, where sales account for nearly 22% of group turnover, the company plans to add one to two stores annually. Expansion is also underway in Bulgaria, with a new store expected in the next two to three years. Meanwhile, in Israel, where Jumbo products are distributed by the Fox Group, two more outlets are scheduled to open by the end of 2025, bringing the total there to five.

Despite its robust performance, Jumbo's management remains cautious about issuing forecasts for 2025, citing uncertainty in the global economic environment. Nevertheless, the company maintains a strong financial position, with cash reserves and equivalent assets reaching €447.81 million at the end of 2024 — far exceeding its debt obligations and ensuring a net cash-positive status.
