As part of its continuous effort to enhance its management team and with the aim of more effectively implementing its strategic plan, Alpha Bank Cyprus announces the addition of three distinguished executives to its top management level. Specifically, Mrs. Popi Chatzioannou Dimitriou assumes the position of Chief Retail Banking Officer, Mr. Giorgos Siamoutis the position of Chief Risk Officer, and Mr. Giorgos Charalambous the position of Chief International Banking Officer.

Mrs. Popi Chatzioannou Dimitriou is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), with over 30 years of experience in the banking sector. She has held senior management positions both at Alpha Bank Cyprus and Eurobank Cyprus, with extensive experience in treasury management, retail banking, and affluent banking. Her deep knowledge of the banking market, her ability to manage large teams, and her experience in designing and implementing customer-centric service models are expected to contribute significantly to the further development of Alpha Bank Cyprus. In her role as Chief Retail Banking Officer, she will lead the strategy of the Retail Banking Division, enhancing the Bank’s physical and digital presence with the goal of delivering personalized, modern, and effective solutions to customers.

Mr. Giorgos Siamoutis has extensive experience in corporate finance, with parallel specialization in the banking sector in matters of governance, risk management, and compliance with supervisory and regulatory frameworks. He holds a professional title (Fellow Chartered Accountant – ICAEW) with over 20 years of professional experience and has held leadership positions at PwC and Alpha Bank Cyprus, where he specialized in areas such as valuations and loan portfolio quality assessments, stress testing, loan portfolio impairments, risk data analysis and reporting, and the development of risk methodologies. His dual background in banking and consulting gives him the ability to bridge the needs of regulatory compliance with business strategy. In the position of Chief Risk Officer, he will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the Bank’s risk management strategy, contributing to the strengthening of its operations and enhancement of its corporate governance framework.

Mr. Giorgos Charalambous joins the Management Team of Alpha Bank Cyprus as Chief International Banking Officer. With extensive experience in business and international banking, as well as in managing arrears and non-performing exposures, Mr. Charalambous has held leadership positions in Cyprus and abroad, including at PwC, Laiki Bank, Russian Industrial Bank, and Hellenic Bank. He has consistently demonstrated strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities, and his contribution to portfolio restructuring and international development matters is expected to further strengthen the Bank’s outward-looking orientation.

The addition of the three Executives marks another important step toward enhancing the Bank’s operational efficiency and outward growth trajectory, with a focus on the continuous improvement of its services and the support of the Cypriot economy.
