A Never-Ending Saga: Another Delay in e-Kalathi’s Launch

Repeated delays and postponements.

The e-Kalathi project has started to feel like a never-ending saga, with repeated delays and postponements pushing back its official launch. Today, it was announced that the platform’s launch, originally scheduled for March 4, 2025, will be postponed for a few more days due to "technical issues related to system security."

“The launch, which was planned for March 4, is being postponed for a few days until the identified security issues are resolved,” Director of the Consumer Protection Service at the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, Karayioryis emphasized.

He explained that this delay will be brief and necessary to ensure the system’s security. The Deputy Ministry of Research and Innovation, which conducted the platform’s security tests, identified technical issues requiring immediate fixes.

The e-Kalathi platform underwent a pilot phase from February 10 to 20, during which the entire system was built and integrated with supermarkets. However, during the final testing stage, security evaluations uncovered two to three technical issues that must be addressed before the platform can go live.

Following these findings, the Service has issued instructions for the necessary corrections, which are expected to take a few more days before e-Kalathi officially launches.
