US business leaders and executives have expressed significant interest in expanding their operations in Cyprus during a working lunch hosted by President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides with a large group of entrepreneurs in New York.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said last night that the purpose of the working lunch was to discuss attracting high-quality investments to Cyprus.
The US business community acknowledged that Cyprus’s international reputation, particularly in the United States, has greatly improved recently, thanks to excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and the US and recent agreements between the two countries.
The entrepreneurs showed genuine interest in various sectors where they are active, such as Energy, Shipping, Tourism, Finance, Services, and Infrastructure, and agreed to maintain close contact in the coming months for further information, the statement says.
President Christodoulides briefed the business community on the implementation of his government’s reform agenda, particularly regarding the digitization efforts being promoted in Cyprus to facilitate and attract high-quality investments and to ensure their successful implementation.
He emphasized that the digitization of key state services and processes will play a crucial role in attracting these investments and in making Cyprus an easier place for investors to operate.
