Dialogue with Unions Over Collective Agreement Ongoing, SHSO Says

As noted, since the start of the process, positions and proposals have been submitted by all sides, while issues concerning both employment conditions and the future course of the Organisation have been discussed.

The State Health Services Organisation (SHSO/OKYpY) sets the uninterrupted operation of public hospitals and the provision of quality health services to citizens as a steadfast priority, emphasizing that it continues the dialogue with trade union organizations for the renewal of the collective agreement.

In an announcement today, SHSO states that the goal is to formulate a modern and functional framework for labor relations that responds to the needs of the Organisation, the staff, and above all, the patients.

As it notes, since the start of the process, positions and proposals have been submitted by all sides, while issues concerning both employment conditions and the future course of the Organisation have been discussed. SHSO points out that it is natural for different approaches and disagreements to exist on individual issues, as occurs in any serious negotiation of this scope.

The Organisation underscores that the dialogue continues with the aim of achieving solutions that ensure the stability, smooth operation, and long-term perspective of public hospitals.

In relation to its existing commitments, including the financial incentives recognized for physicians for their services within the framework of the General Healthcare System (GHS/GeSY), SHSO states that "these remain in force," with the relevant processes currently underway in accordance with the agreed framework and progressing through the projected institutional procedures.

At the same time, it points out that "some of the issues raised within the framework of the consultations require a broader evaluation beyond their labor dimension, as they affect aspects of the operation and viability of the Organisation" and, as such, are being examined based on the institutional, legal, and fiscal framework.

Meanwhile, SHSO stresses that "services to patients continue uninterruptedly and that public hospitals respond daily to their mission."

In conclusion, it states that it will continue the dialogue with trade union organizations "in good faith, with a sense of responsibility and respect for the staff," seeking agreements that will "strengthen the stability, sustainability, and developmental perspective of the public health system for the benefit of citizens."
