Security Summit, Nicosia Hosts 148th EUROPOL Management Board Meeting

148th Europol Management Board Meeting Takes Place in Nicosia

Cyprus hosts EUROPOL's supreme governing body this week in Nicosia, bringing together EU member states to strengthen the agency's operational capabilities under the Cyprus EU Council Presidency.

Nicosia Hosts Key EU Security Governing Body

The 148th EUROPOL Management Board meeting takes place on Monday and Tuesday in Nicosia in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. The Management Board is EUROPOL's supreme governing body which brings together representatives of all EU member states.

Future Strategic Direction of EUROPOL

According to a press release issued by the Cyprus EU Presidency Secretariat, participants will discuss issues of strategic importance concerning the future course of EUROPOL, the further strengthening of its operational and institutional capabilities, as well as the improvement of the support it provides to the competent authorities of the member states.

Cyprus Police Take the Reins as Vice-Chair

As it is noted, the event is hosted by the Cyprus Police, during its term as Vice-Chair of the EUROPOL Management Board, and "reflects the active participation and continuous contribution of Cyprus to the work and decision-making processes of the Organisation".

High-Profile Assembly of Institutional Partners

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the member states of the European Union, members of the European Parliament and the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group of EUROPOL, as well as officials and institutional partners of the Organisation.
